Sanctuary of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church

As the Church Gathered at Shrub Oak, we four thousand families and singles, of all ages, backgrounds and stages of development, residing in Northern Westchester and Putnam counties, are one of the 414 Catholic parishes in the 10 counties of the Archdiocese of New York.

We have responded to the summons of the Savior by choosing to intertwine our lives with Christ and with each other, as the first American Catholic parish, graced with the name of Elizabeth Ann (Bayley) Seton, the first American-born saint and a New Yorker.

Frank Bruno, 1929-2010, R. I. P.

The clergy and Pastoral staff join me in regretfully announcing the sudden death of our beloved Deacon G. Frank Bruno, on February 2nd, the Feast of the Presentation of Our Lord in the Temple.  He and his wife, Pauline, were very active, faithful parishioners for the past 43 years.  He was ordained a permanent deacon on November 23, 1991, and served all of our parishioners:  visiting the poor, the sick, and the homebound; educating the young and not-so-young; serving at the altar, at many devotional activities; and at too many other activities to list.  He was especially devoted to the Eucharist and Our Lady of Fatima.  Predeceased by his son, Joseph (Jan 8, 2000), Frank is survived by Pauline and his seven children.

May his soul and the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace.  Amen.

- Msgr. Sandi
