Saint of the Day

Sanctuary of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church

As the Church Gathered at Shrub Oak, we 4000 families and singles, of all ages, backgrounds and stages of development, residing in Northern Westchester and Putnam counties, are one of the 414 Catholic parishes in the 10 counties of the Archdiocese of New York.  We have responded to the summons of the Savior by choosing to intertwine our lives with that of Christ and with each other, as the first parish in the world, graced with the name of Elizabeth Ann (Bayley) Seton, the first American-born saint.

Confess Our Sins, Do Penance, Amend Our Lives

We pray in a special way for all those who have been victims of clergy sexual    abuse in any way, for sustained efforts to train and arm all church employees and volunteers to safeguard children in our parishes, schools and institutions, and for responsible and brave clergymen to recognize and deal forthrightly with any and all immoral and criminal behavior in their ranks.  And finally, we pray for the vast majority of faithful clergymen and generous laypeople who continue to serve the people who ARE the Church,
