A NEW DEACON FOR SETON!

We recently received word that Cardinal Dolan has appointed Deacon Matthew Reiman to our parish. Deacon Reiman, a Mahopac native,  is a member of the St. Joseph’s Seminary Class of 2015.  He is a “transitional” (not a “permanent” deacon), meaning that he will be ordained a priest . At Seton, he will assist at our Saturday evening and Sunday Liturgies.  In addition he will help us with baptisms and will be available for weddings.  Look to the current issue of Catholic New York for details about the seminary Class of 2015 (http://cny.org/).  We look forward to his ministry among us and will do our best to help prepare him for ordination to the priesthood in May 2015.  Welcome Deacon Reiman!

Sanctuary of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church

As the Church Gathered at Shrub Oak, we 4000 families and singles, of all ages, backgrounds and stages of development, residing in Northern Westchester and Putnam counties, are one of the 414 Catholic parishes in the 10 counties of the Archdiocese of New York.  We have responded to the summons of the Savior by choosing to intertwine our lives with that of Christ and with each other, as the first parish in the world graced with the name of Elizabeth Ann (Bayley) Seton, the first American-born saint.

if our gift is to speak God's message, we should do it according to the faith that we have; if it is to serve, we should serve;  if it is to teach, we should teach; if it is to encourage others, we should do so. Whoever shares with others, should do it generously;  whoever has authority, should work hard; whoever shows kindness to others, should do it cheerfully.  Letter of St. Paul to the Romans 12:4-8
