They also assist the pastor in other special income requirements. This committee has been in existence since the parish’s inception and exercised a major role in the building of the Church, school, rectory and chapel. The committee meets regularly and continually seeks new ideas and insights toward the challenge of ongoing parish fiscal stability.

Holy Name Society

Contact: President - Frank Inzirillo

The Holy Name Society was founded in 1963 together with the Altar and Rosary Society. The Holy Name Society promotes reverence and love for the name of Jesus by spreading and increasing love for the sacred name of Jesus through word and example, while avoiding disrespect to the name of God, of Jesus and of holy things, through the abstention from improper language. The Society prudently strives to encourage others to abstain from insults to God and all immoral speech. Whenever possible HNS members join together to receive Holy Communion at the 9:30 am Mass on Holy Name Sunday, the second Sunday of each month. Following the Mass, society matters are discussed and refreshment and camaraderie is offered. The Society pays respect to their deceased members with visits to waking services and praying the Rosary. The deceased members of the HNS are remembered at an annual memorial Mass. Members visit those of their number who are ill in hospitals or at home. During the Advent-Christmas season gifts are delivered to homebound parishioners. A highpoint of the year is the annual "Retreat Weekend," which is usually conducted in January.

Our praesidium at Seton is "Mary, Heart of Believers." Active members are asked to do two hours of apostolic work each week which may include teaching Religious Education, reciting the rosary with Mohegan Park residents, and organizing pilgrimages. We meet every Thursday in Our Lady Memorial Chapel at 7:30 PM. Our Spiritual Director is Fr. Rajan. Everyone is welcome to "come and see" as a guest and, perhaps later, as a member.

Medjugorie Rosary Guild

Contact: Jim McGraw

Through this prayer group, Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton parishioners are offered a spiritual path to help their growth in holiness by prayers and the Rosary. The Rosary Guild was established in 1989, about two years after six youths became visionaries in Medjugorie. The group encourages new members to join together in offering prayers and supplications to our Mother Mary so that all may come together and pray for peace in themselves, their families, and the world. The group prays the Rosary every Monday night at 6PM in the church. They also meet in the church to pray at 5AM on the 2nd day of each month.

As an umbrella organization composed of a member from each parish organization, the Parish Council is the principal advisory committee for the pastor. Any parish action that is substantive and affects the mission and direction of the parish is brought before the Council for its consideration. The Council advances the mission of the Church within the parish by being an advisory body fostering the spiritual and corporal works of mercy by the various parish organizations, adding legitimacy to the actions of these organizations, and aiding in the implementation of the parish goals. It is a forum in which all parishioners may be heard and have input and acts as an information source to all parishioners concerning parish matters.

Responding to the call for evangelization, the RCIA program meets weekly for 2 hour classes that are held from the end of August through the Easter season. Anyone interested in converting to Catholicism or in receiving all the Sacraments, please contact Deacon Frank Bruno.

Respect Life Committee

Contact: Sara Koshofer

The Respect Life Committee seeks to educate parishioners and people in the community about public policy concerning pro-life issues and to mobilize all as quickly as possible to inform and advise legislators through letters, visits, and phone calls. Under the guidance of Monsignor Fogarty, parishioners formed the Respect Life Committee in 1990. The committee’s activities have included a diaper drive to benefit "Birthright" and "Alternative Pregnancy" and special prayers during Respect Life Month in October. Also offered is a monthly Holy Hour for Life; a March for Life in Washington; the Saint Patrick’s Day Parade and an annual Seton School essay contest. The Respect Life Committee is always seeking new members and welcomes your ideas. The parish is an ideal place for Catholics to gather for effective action, to promote change, and to motivate others in the belief that all life is sacred. Meetings are held once a month. Please contact Sara Koshofer.

Third Order of St. Francis (Secular Franciscans)

Contact: Arthur Bortz

The Franciscan Order, founded by Saint Francis of Assisi in 1209, seeks to enrich the entire life of the Christian whose daily life is the living of the Gospel message as an example to others. The Order members, called Tertiaries, build on the four cornerstones of Franciscan spirituality: humility, simplicity, poverty, and prayer. Third Order Tertiaries come together in community once a month to share and renew their Franciscan spirituality. The General Meeting is held at 2:00 pm in Our Lady Memorial Chapel on the fourth Sunday of each month.

Ushers (Ministry of Hospitality)

Contact: Jim Arena

We perform a critical function in assisting all our parishioners and visitors. The ushers welcome and assist in seating those participating in  liturgical services and special events. Among the ushers’ many duties is to distribute current bulletins and other documents relevant to that service, as well as to answer or appropriately direct questions. The usher also makes every effort to minimize possible distractions, aid parishioners when necessary, assist standees when seating is available and to direct the flow of communicants. New usher volunteers are always needed and welcomed.
