About Our School...

Opened September 1966 as part of the newly formed parish (1963) of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton; staffed by the Sisters of Charity of New York and Catholic lay faculty.
Montessori-oriented pre-school and kindergarten began September 1969.
School population:

Pre-school: age 3 by September 1
Kindergarten: age 5 by December 1
Grades 1 through 8
Usually two classes per grade
Serving school districts: Lakeland (our home district), Brewster, Carmel, Chappaqua, Garrison, Hendrick Hudson, Mahopac, North Salem, Peekskill and Putnam Valley.

Student ratio:
- Pre-school and Kindergarten — 2 teachers for 23 students.
- Grades 1 through 8 — 1 teacher for 25/30 students.
Transportation:

Busing available for Kindergarten through Grade 8 from local public school districts within a 15 mile radius. Peekskill does not provide busing.

Christian values inculcated within each child throughout each day.
Daily prayer experiences along with monthly liturgical and paraliturgical celebrations
Sacramental preparation in first grade for Reconciliation and Communion; grade 7 for Confirmation.
Prepared environment based on respect for each person, place and thing.
Curriculum: strong in basic skill development, opportunities for development of potential, learning experiences for thinking and reasoning skills
Academic and special areas of study:

Religion, Reading, Spelling, Grammar, Composition, Math, Social Studies, Science, Penmanship, Spanish, Music, Art, Computer, Library and Physical Education.
