Eight hundred years ago, St Francis of Assisi established three Orders, each of which promised to live the gospel in humility, peace, and love of all humanity. One of these Orders was the secular order, that is, people who wanted to follow Francis, but due to family or work responsibilities, could not live in monasteries or convents. Today, Secular Franciscans still promise to follow the gospel as Francis did, and they continue to live in the world. The Portiuncula Fraternity of the Secular Franciscan Order meets here at Seton on the
fourth Sunday of each month, and we invite you to join us to explore Franciscan life according to the gospel. Our local fraternity held elections on June 28th, and four of the five new officers are Seton parishioners. Please feel free to talk to these parishioners if you are curious about St Francis and how we live his rule of life. Minister: Matthew Kennon, Vice minister:
