Lord God we gather around this table
 to express our thankfulness.
 
You give us everything that is good:
the gift of life, food to share,  family and friends to love, 
and a place of freedom on this earth.
 
We pray for the leaders of our country and
for all our troops abroad.  Help us to be a peaceful
 and grateful people.
 
Provide for the needy and comfort
the lonely and forgotten.
 
We ask you this in Jesus’ name. Amen
